The Co-operative Local Champion – Eunice McGhie-Belgrave

Eunice is known as the ‘First Lady’ of allotments, and has inspired countless children to grow and cook their own vegetables.

For more than 20 years Eunice has been working tirelessly to make sure young people take pride in their community.

Now 75 years old, Eunice from Birmingham works with thousands of inner-city children of all ages and backgrounds these days, and the police say she’s helped reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

Judge’s comment

"Eunice has such passion and zest for her projects She also inspired a whole community to come together."
