The Co-operative Recycling Centre

the largest in-house recycling centre in the UK

Based in Manchester, The Co-operative Group’s Recycling Centre processes paper and cardboard from our head office complex and our other major occupancies. 

In 2009 the centre recycled 786 tons of waste. Waste paper is shred, bailed, reprocessed and packaged into our own-brand toilet tissue and kitchen rolls, which you can find in our Food stores.

Because a huge amount of waste paper from this country is sent to China, recycling our own waste within our own premises is a sign of how seriously The Group takes its environmental responsibilities.
