Enterprise hub launches in the East of England

The Co-operative Enterprise Hub had an official launch in the East of England region on March 31.

Like most PR launches, it lagged behind reality because one of the main attractions was a presentation about Cambridge Wood Works, a brand new co-operative that ‘rescues and re-uses’ timber that normally gets dumped in skips and sent to landfill.

Cambridge Wood Works is part of a growing network of local, wood recycling, social enterprises and it’s the first to use the co-operative community interest company legal form.

An adviser from The Co-operative Enterprise Hub helped to guide the group through the registration process.

You can read more about Cambridge Wood Works here, you can see the BBC TV coverage here.
