The Enterprise Hub to launch in Scotland

We're delighted to announce the launch of The Co-operative Enterprise Hub in Scotland. The Hub, which has provided support for over 350 fledgling and established co-operatives, is being unveiled on March 11th at the Scottish Youth Theatre.

The launch, which you can register for here, will begin at 2.15pm with an introduction from Angela Davies, the manager of The Co-operative Enterprise Hub. Following Angela's opening remarks, Jim O'Neil from the Fenwick Weavers Co-operative will be discussing the prestigious history of co-operatives in Scotland. If you're curious, the Fenwick Weavers were founded in 1761 as the world's first recorded co-operative organisation.

Following Jim's talk, there will also be a number of case studies relating to which have previous benefited from the support of The Enterprise Hub. You can view a number of these on our video case-studies wall.

The launch of the Scottish arm of The Co-operative Enterprise Hub follows a fantastic year for the group. In 2010, the Hub expanded to a number of locations across the country, including the North East, the West Midlands and the South East, while in January, it was announced that the funding available for the Enterprise Hub had been increase by 50 per cent, from 5 million to 7.5 million. You can read more about our ambitious plans for 2011 here.

We hope to see you all on March 11th.
