About the project

The Co-operative Group is building 1 Angel Square in Manchester close to its current complex on Miller Street and Corporation Street. It is due to open in autumn 2012 and it will add a striking new landmark to the city’s skyline.

The 15 storey building will be the home to more than 3,000 employees working across the Group’s family of retailing and financial services businesses.

Manchester has been the Group’s home for nearly 150 years and the new building is a demonstration of The Co-operative’s current success, its confidence in its future and its commitment to Manchester.

The building will be the biggest single expression of The Co-operative’s values and will be outstanding in its environmental commitment to tackling climate change.

1 Angel Square will be the first phase of the wider development of our current complex. The building will be the catalyst for the regeneration of our existing 20-acre site that will bring new business, retail, residential and leisure facilities to the area.
