Anti-Bribery

Evidence shows bribery impacts most heavily upon poor and vulnerable people in developing countries. With an estimated £1000 billion paid in bribes worldwide per year the economic effects are devastating. As a result we are committed to ensuring adequate procedures to prevent bribery are enforced within The Co-operative Group. The Co-operative Group’s efforts coincide with the government’s movement to eradicate bribery in the form of the UK Bribery Act, due to be enforced in 2011.
