Crime & Disorder Partnerships

In support of the Home Office Cutting Crime Agenda – A New Partnership 2008 – 2011 Strategy - the Co-operative committed to orchestrating and hosting a number of Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRP’s) / Community Safety Partnerships (CSP’s) Consultation Events.

Responsible authorities are under a statutory duty to ensure that the key agencies come together to work in partnership in a CDRP/CSP, and carry out an audit of local crime, disorder and misuse of drugs every three years. Using the information arising from this audit and based on consultation with local communities a strategy for combating crime, disorder and the misuse of drugs including substance misuse (in Wales) in the local area is formulated.

Not only does the event raise the awareness of business crime with regional and local crime policy makers, but the event provides good practice and the manner in which the Co-operative can play a key and significant role in supporting and developing reduction of crime initiatives to make safer and stronger communities.

These events have been widely reported, click on link to see example
