Safety Education

The Co-operative Group opened two new stores in 2005 but they’ll have no permanent staff and won’t sell anything. Instead these outlets will help youngsters keep safe and stay on the right side of the law.

The centres, near Prestatyn in North Wales and Pontypridd in the south provide hands-on, interactive education for children and young people in realistic settings.

As well as the Co-operative stores, the centres include a series of specially designed sets, such as construction sites, farm buildings, railway lines and public transport, to teach safety and responsible behaviour.
