The Co-operative.tv

introducing our new online TV channel

The Co-operative has just launched The Co-operative.tv, a unique digital TV channel that offers instant access to video content about its ethical projects.

The website, which launched on 14 April, is part of the all-encompassing Ethical.tv and will host film clips and programmes about various aspects of The Co-operative Group and its campaigns. It will also host the show reel made for the annual Young Film-makers Festival, which is supported by The Co-operative Group.

Ethical.tv has been created by Hand Up Media, the ethical publishing, media and events company that promotes fair trade and ethical lifestyle issues to consumers. The site is funded through advertising and sponsorship.

Patrick Allen, Director of Marketing, said: "The amount of interest in The Co-operative since we launched the brand campaign in February has been unprecedented and this groundbreaking initiative is a further demonstration of our leadership position on ethical issues. It will contribute enormously to our increasingly active outreach programme, enabling those who want to know more to access a host of information.

"The Co-operative.tv will show our community activity and highlight issues such as fair trade. This will be a great resource that I think will be particularly attractive to schools and colleges that wish to study co-operation as part of the curriculum.

"Going forward, we will upload other items in order to keep The Co-operative.tv fresh and interesting."

The channel can be accessed at www.co-operative.tv (opens in new window)
