a farm visit

A farm visit

When children visit The Co-operative Farms, they learn about:

  • A range of crops, their different stages of growth and the planting and harvesting cycles.
  • How plants are transformed into familiar foodstuffs
  • The wildlife that lives on a farm
  • The role farmers play in looking after the countryside

Activity information

On a From Farm to Fork visit, all activities are group led and a class of children are usually split into two groups. The farm will supply necessary equipment required for activities. Our aim is to make all of our visits as cross curricular as possible and we are happy to adapt visits to suit needs.

National curriculum links for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

All of the farms offering From Farm to Fork experiences have received training and are accredited by CEVAS – the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme – which is the sign of a high quality visit and farm experience.
