About the farm:
We have been farming here since 1912. As well as the above produce Coldham has bee hives and grows sweetcorn, shallots, sugar beet, beans, wheat and rapeseed.
Coldham is the site of our windfarm, set up by the Group in 2005 in conjunction with Scottish power.
In July 2010 an artificial otter holt was built underground in the riverbank at Coldham, after evidence of otters were found. See our exclusive footage of an otter using the holt

Farm Manager (Roots):
Name: Russell Armstrong
Interesting fact:Russell spent his weekends as a teenager working on a pig and arable farm before attending Harper Adams Agriculture College. When he graduated he went travelling around South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, spending 15 months working on arable farms in Oz.
Russell joined the Co-operative Farms on his return in 2001 and has gone on to complete our Management Trainee Scheme before becoming the Farm Manager at Coldham. In 2009 he was named the UK’s Green Energy Farmer of the Year at the Farmers Weekly Awards.
He loves walking his Border Collie called Roobarb and recently went on a hiking holiday in the Nepalese Himalaya.
Farm Manager (Arable):
Name: Tom Paybody
Interesting fact:Tom grew up on a mixed sheep and arable farm in Northamptonshire before going to Newcastle University to study.... After his studies he worked in New South Wales Australia, for a year before joining The Co-operative Farms Graduate Scheme in 2007. In his spare time Tom enjoys playing rugby (when he is between injuries!) and like to watch the Northampton Saints games when he gets a moment away from the farm. He is also a keen skiier.
