Working with our suppliers and growers.
To assist growers, suppliers and agronomists, we have developed an online pesticides portal the Environmental Practice at Work (EPAW) system which is designed to help suppliers comply with Co-operative Food’s policy requirements and to source information to control the most hazardous situations for workers suppliers and consumers.
The online system:
- Gives assistance to people “at the sharp end” to put The Co-operative Pesticide Code into practice
- Offers advice to growers, suppliers and agronomists
- Help suppliers reap the benefits of improved performance
- Provides an opportunity for feedback and comment
- Allows suppliers and growers to work together to encourage best practices for reducing pesticide use
- The programme is both a learning and audit tool. We want to educate and involve suppliers, growers and other stakeholders in developing ways of reducing pesticide use
