a sweet return for our producers

Sugar is one of the most significant examples of unfair trade rules. Not only are African producers penalised heavily by quota and tariff systems when they try to export to the EU, but Europe often dumps its own surpluses into Africa, denying producers even a domestic market.

We launched Fairtrade bagged sugar in 2005, use it as an ingredient in many other products and continue to assist African producers through the unfair system
