5 a day

Eat five portions of fruit and vegetables each day to help stay healthy

All about 5-a-dayImage of bananas

Our aim is to be the number one retailer in educating, raising awareness of and promoting diet and health issues to the wider community. We do this in a number of ways, including the web, instore leaflets and honest food messages displayed on our shelves, in our advertising and other publications and on our own brand packaging -  where we believe we provide more information than anyone else.

What does it mean?

The Department of Health also recommend eating at least 5 portions a day as part of a healthy balanced diet. Children should also try and eat 5 portions of different fruit and vegetables a day but in smaller quantities than adults.  Image of carrots

Introducing children to a wide variety of different fruit and vegetables can help set up good eating habits early on, which will help protect health in later life.
