exercise more and be a healthy weight

It's not a good idea to be either underweight or overweight
Being overweight can lead to health conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Being underweight can affect your health. You can check if you are a healthy weight for your height by using the link to the BMI calculator below.

Remember:
- Eat a variety of foods so you get all the nutrients your body needs
- Chose healthier options like wholegrain, fruit & veg, low sugar and low fat varieties
- Try and restrict the number of snacks you eat
- Get more active!
Being active will help you maintain a healthy weight, but it doesn't mean that you have to go to the gym. Try to get active every day and build up the amount you do. Try to fit in as much walking as you can into your daily routine and try to walk at a good pace.
If you eat more than our body needs, you put on weight. The way to reach a healthy weight and maintain this is to change your lifestyle gradually. Aim to lose about 1-2lbs a week. Don’t crash diet, it doesn’t work long term and isn't good for your health.
