Co-operative wins Best Banger in Britain Award
The SuperMeat & Fish awards aim to reward excellence in supermarket retailing of meat and fish - at both store level and in the manufacturing of fantastic food products.
The Co-operative’s Truly Irresistible Gluten Free Sausages use only British Hampshire Breed Outdoor Reared Pork. They have a high meat content, a hint of pepper and a meaty and succulent texture, whilst being completely gluten free.
Best Sustainable Product was also awarded to The Co-operative for its Breaded Icelandic Line Caught Cod portions. The Co-operative Icelandic Line Caught Cod portions are responsibly sourced from a fishery that uses traditional methods which minimise environmental impact. The Co-operative introduced its Responsible Fish Sourcing Policy in 2008.
