Praise for The Co-operative in supermarket survey
The Co-operative has been voted top of the “big five” in a supermarket survey by website supermarketownbrandguide.com
The website, run by writer Martin Isark, is best known for testing and reviewing own-brand products by major retailers.
The survey has ranked all the supermarkets on products and range, shopping experience, value for money, labelling and staff. The Co-operative has come second overall with a score of 28.5 out of 30 - narrowly behind Marks & Spencer - but beating Sainbury’s, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco.
Mr Isark said The Co-operative's refurbished shops "are a delight to shop in". He also praised the retailer’s nutrition and allergen labelling, as well as the quality of its own-brand products, which he says "compete well with the quality of leading brands".
