The Co-operative at the BBC Good Food Show

The Co-operative showed off a selection of its stunning South African wines at the recent BBC Good Food Wine tasting at the BBC Good Food Show SummerShow Summer.  Visitors to the show were treated to samples and tasting sessions by The Co-operative’s experienced and passionate wine team, including Vicky Wood (pictured).

Products showcased included a selection of The Co-operative’s Fairtrade wines from South Africa. The extremely popular wines come from the Du Toiskloof wine co-operative in the Western Cape.  As well as receiving a guaranteed Fairtrade price for their grapes, the growers receive an additional social premium set by the Fairtrade Labelling Organisation, which The Co-operative uniquely matches, thereby increasing the money the growers receive through the sale of the wines to fund community initiatives.

The South African wine range includes the aromatic and crisp Fairtrade Cape Sauvignon Blanc Reserve, the tropical fruit-scented Fairtrade Cape Chenin - Colombard, the red berry fruit-packed Fairtrade Cape Cinsault-Shiraz and the warm and spicy Fairtrade Cape Cabernet Sauvignon.
