Obituaries and funeral announcements

Local newspapers are favoured for both obituaries and announcements.
In some areas they put a black bow on the door of the house where the death occurred. This tends to happen in some of the country areas, but they’re few and far between now.
The traditional means of communicating the death and funeral arrangements do still continue across the UK. In some areas funeral arrangements are also posted in shops and post offices, on lamp posts or in the window of the funeral home.
The internet is also beginning to influence funeral announcements, with online newspapers and social networking websites being used more and more.
Some crematoria and cemeteries have also started offering web-casting to live-stream ceremonies to family and friends who are unable to attend. For more information please visit our co-operative crematorium website.
Our Funeral Directors will be happy to help you arrange any obituary notices.
