The Lancaster funeral home first opened in 1938. The branch, which then housed a reception area and office, also contained a joiner’s workshop. This workshop was later converted into chapels of rest in the 1960's.
In September 2008 the Co-operative Funeralcare, Lancaster saw the completion of a major refurbishment. This involved remodelling the layout of the former premises to include a new quiet area, three chapels of rest, arrangement room, office space and much more.
The Co-operative Funeralcare, Lancaster continues to serve and develop its commitment to the local town and is regularly involved in a variety of activities within the local community.
