Look out for a FREE wildflower seed giveaway in Co-operative Food stores on Saturday 21 April to celebrate the re-launch of our Plan Bee campaign for 2012!

wildflower seedsMany wildflowers are nectar rich and provide a good source of nutrition for pollinators but since the 1930’s the UK has lost an alarming 97% of its wildflower meadows. To increase the number of wildflowers grown in the UK we have already given away almost a million packets of wildflower seeds and we will be giving away more in 2012.

Do your bit to help.

Pick up the Daily Mirror or the Daily Record newspaper in The Co-operative Food stores (find out where your nearest store is) on Saturday 21 April 2012 and get a free packet of wildflower seeds.

Plant the seeds in your garden or patio pots and once grown they will provide pollen and nectar for bees.

This year's mix has been specially created to include flowers that are beneficial for pollinators such as bees, butterflies and moths and includes Wild Marjoram, Scentless Mayweed, Field Poppy, Oxeye Daisy, Red Campion, Self Heal, Wild Carrot, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Cornflower, and Wild Red Clover.

Find out other ways you can get involved with our Plan Bee campaign, and what we're doing to help pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
