Call for moratorium on shale gas development and 'fracking' in the UK

We urgently need to let the Government know that the environmental and health risks presented by shale gas development and 'fracking' in the UK are unacceptable. The UK needs to stop seeking out evermore difficult-to-reach sources of oil and gas and instead invest more in clean energy.

Please contact your MP to sign Early Day Motion 2292 on 'HYDRAULIC FRACTURING (FRACKING) (No. 2)' and ensure that we:

impose an immediate moratorium on the extraction of natural gas from the UK’s shale formations until all the impacts and associated risks are fully understood
prioritise the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.

You can find out if your MP has already signed the EDM. If they have already signed it, why not congratulate them and encourage them to get in touch with the relevant Minister about the issue.
