Conveyancing clients urged to use reputable firm

Conveyancing clients may wish to use a reputable firm when they want to buy or sell a home.
In one highly unusual case, a family were defrauded by people posing as conveyancing solicitors, who sold them a house that was in fact being repossessed, then made off with the money, reports the Daily Mail.
The vast majority of professionals offering conveyancing work are trustworthy and offer high-quality legal services, but this rare case may highlight the importance of choosing practitioners who are known to be dependable.
Nick Christofi told the publication: "Nothing decent usually comes up in Hadley Wood for less than £1 million so I jumped at the chance to buy it."
His family's experience is highly unusual, as the majority of clients are likely to be satisfied with the service they receive from conveyancing professionals.
For practitioners in Scotland, a roadshow is being hosted by the Law Society of Scotland and Registers of Scotland to make sure they are providing excellence in the field.
