Mortgage Strategy reports the proposed conveyancing accreditation scheme put forward by the Law Society has received a cautious welcome from some specialists in the field, who observe current systems for assisting people moving home were "developed by the best firms".

The services of conveyancing solicitors might be rendered more costly if excessive regulation is levied, warns the commentator, suggesting the body considers "what happens when a regulator overreacts and the cost of execution is out of proportion to the benefit to those it purports to protect".

Those planning on moving home might find conveyancing services indispensable, as experts in the field can facilitate swift and competent transfer of property between buyers and sellers.

David Dalby, residential director at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, recently noted real estate is generally the largest purchase most individuals make, suggesting they enter such transactions with as much information as possible.
