Woman loses at employment tribunal

A woman has recently lost her case at an
employment tribunal.
The Malvern Gazette reported that Elizabeth Senior brought a
compensation claim against Regents Theological College on the grounds that it had discriminated against her for her belief or religion.
She told Birmingham Employment Tribunal that she was unfairly dismissed from her role as an administrator at the college.
However, the college claimed that it dismissed Ms Senior as it was worried about how she was performing at work.
"We have been told that Mrs Senior not always turned up for work on time and the college complained she would leave her work place without saying where she was going," tribunal judge Karen Tucker said.
The tribunal ruled that she was let go from her position due to her performance at work and rejected her compensation claim.
Last month, a man lost at an employment tribunal, where he fought being sacked from his position as a prison officer for wearing a religious dagger.
Jagdip Singh Dhinsa's claims for
unfair dismissal and discrimination were both rejected.
