Alternative business structures to improve legal complaints handling?

The Legal Services Commission has been responsible for bringing in alternative business structures (ABSs), which allow solicitors and lawyers to work side by side with non-legal professionals such as tax experts.
Many experts believe this will make the system more efficient and cost effective, bringing down prices while making providers more accountable.
Writing in the Guardian, Jon Robbins notes the so-called "Tesco law" began in part as a response to frustrations over the handling of complaints about low-standard legal work.
While not a common occurrence, occasional difficulties do arise and it is believed the ABSs should cut down on this by encouraging transparency and making it faster and easier to handle client concerns.
The Ministry of Justice has created a fact sheet on the subject to inform professionals and the public about the changes being made, which is available to download on their website and details the main benefits for users.
