Legal services body investigates will-writing experiences
Legal Services 23 Sep 2010

The Legal Services Consumer Panel is to examine will-writing experiences, as part of its ongoing investigation into industry regulation.
Which? reveals seven per cent of Britons use will-writing services such as specialist firms and independent financial advisers, with a small minority of these causing problems through low-quality or exploitative work.
Dr Dianne Hayter, chair of the Legal Services Consumer Panel, stated: "A will is one of the most important documents you will ever write, so it's vital to ensure it is prepared properly."
She explained the case for further will-writing regulation may rest on whether the tiny fraction of rogue practitioners can be dealt with under existing laws, or if further regulation needs to be brought in to protect consumers.
Individuals wishing to contact the organisation to discuss their experiences of the industry can contact the Legal Services Consumer Panel via its website.
