Legal services boosted by Bristol's new Civil Justice Centre?

Legal Services 24 Nov 2010

South-west legal services may get better thanks to the new Bristol Civil Justice Centre, recently opened in the centre of the city. Legal services in the south-west should be improved with the opening of the Bristol Civil Justice Centre, formally opened late last week.

The BBC reports personal injury claims will be heard at the new facility, as well as commercial disputes and family law cases.

Lord Chief Justice Sir Alexander Cockburn officially cut the ribbon, honoured as the most senior judge in England and Wales, in a move that could see legal services improved at a time when debate continues over cuts to the Ministry of Justice budget.

Bristol Probate Registry can also be found at the facility, which is located near the city's crown court in the heart of a busy shopping area.

Peter Risk, HM Courts Service regional director for the south-west, commented: "The centre will transform the way civil court work is done; rationalising all Bristol civil work into one building and ensuring cases are heard more quickly."

Those seeking personal injury compensation may welcome this news, which implies claims will be resolved in as short a time as possible.
