Road traffic accident teen pays compensation

A teenager involved in a
road traffic accident while driving his mother's car has been ordered to pay her compensation.
Daniel Johnstone was last week told to pay his mother £150 by Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, the Kilmarnock Standard reported.
The 18-year-old admitted to careless driving during the incident in October on Kilmarnock's Bonnyton Road. Mr Johnstone, of Witchhill Place, was also found to have been driving without supervision even though he only had a provisional licence, meaning that
car accident insurance claims could not help him.
Mr Johnstone along with his friends smashed one of the vehicle's vehicles and took the cowling off the steering column to make it appear that it had been stolen was his mother was asleep.
"He lost control of the vehicle, colliding with a grass verge and thereafter crashing into a fence post, causing extensive damage to the vehicle," Suzanne Fotheringham, prosecuting, said.
In addition, Saga Motor Insurance revealed that older motorists made less road traffic accident claims in winter weather last year compared to in 2009.
