Hazel Stewart's bill for
free legal advice will be £77,000, if not more, it has been revealed.
The Crown Court bill for the convicted double killer's trial has been estimated to be at least £62,000 and the Department of Justice has also said that Ms Stewart's legal aid bill for her representation at the Magistrates Court is £15,433 inclusive of VAT.
David Ford, justice minister, said: "The bills for legal representation in the Magistrates Court have been assessed and paid and the total costs were £13,135.10, excluding VAT of £2,298.64."
She is set to be sentenced for the killings of the wife of her former lover and her husband this week, after being convicted for the crimes.
In another recent legal case, squatters who received free
legal services aid to fight eviction have been forced out of a North London home belonging to businessman John Hamilton-Brown.
