Legal services will ‘boost economic growth’

Strong
legal services will promote long-term UK growth, according to justice minister Lord Tom McNally.
Legal services help companies and workers to mediate situations which would otherwise drain and hinder resources.
Consequently, they are key to ensure that society and business run smoothly.
Speaking last week at the launch of the Unlocking Disputes campaign, Lord McNally stated: “Effective dispute resolution removes barriers to effective economic growth, and that benefits everyone.”
Unlocking disputes is an industry led campaign to promote London as the global dispute resolution centre.
The project is run by the Bar Council, the Law Society and TheCityUK, and celebrates the global success of UK legal services.
London is already the location of choice for many commercial dispute resolution cases, because of the cities high density of specialist lawyers, arbitrators, experts and support services.
The opening of the Rolls Building for Unlocking Disputes symbolises the government’s commitment to strengthening the UK’s reputation as a world leader in legal services.
