Accident compensation worth £7,500 paid by Marks and Spencer
Personal Injury 09 Sep 2010

Accident compensation worth £7,500 has been paid to a woman who fell and broke her hip at a Marks and Spencer store in Perth, Scotland.
A puddle of liquid that had not been cleared up in the supermarket caused 71-year-old Janet Morritt to lose her footing and fall, unable to save herself on a nearby flower display.
The well-known retail group challenged the accident compensation claim, saying the pensioner "had to take reasonable care for her own safety".
In such cases, reparations can help pay for hospital bills and expenses incurred such as taxis to visit medical professionals.
In many cases compensation for lost wages is also covered, as individuals have to take time off to recuperate.
A keen hill-walker, the victim had to have emergency surgery to place a metal plate in her hip and has been left with a limp, as well as having to cancel a planned holiday, thecourier.co.uk reported.
One representative from the Ministry of Justice recently observed personal injury solicitors "provide a valued service" and allow people from all walks of life access to legal services.
