Compensation worth £13,000 for hospital porter injured at work
Personal Injury 15 Sep 2010

Compensation worth £13,000 has been paid to a hospital porter who was injured in the workplace, despite warning his employers of avoidable risks posed in the job.
Peter, from Tadworth in Surrey, seriously hurt his ankle while pushing a large bin down a steep, uneven path, the Abeceder press review reveals.
The compensation was awarded for the personal injury, which left the victim unable to work and with difficulty walking.
UNISON's Head of Health for London, Chris Remmington, commented: "Employers have a duty of care to their employees. It shouldn't take someone being injured before they get around to taking action on health and safety concerns."
Individuals who have been involved in an accident at work that was not their fault could be entitled to compensation for medical costs and lost wages.
As the UK's largest healthcare union, UNISON is often involved in personal injury claims on behalf of members, with specialist lawyers also needed to ensure justice for victims.
