Personal Injury 19 Nov 2010

A bike accident claim has been won by a woman crushed between two lorries in London, resulting in personal injury compensation of £280,000.
Doris Barrera-Torrico, 31, suffered broken bones in several places and external injuries after the incident - which the court ruled was 30:70 her fault - with the rest of the blame placed on the vehicle drivers.
The personal injury victim commented: "Lorry drivers as well as car drivers need to be aware of cyclists on city roads. Safer, more aware driving will prevent other people suffering serious injuries like I did."
Her bike accident claim takes account of the fact the former triathlon enthusiast has had to undergo nine operations, suffering permanent injuries meaning she now cannot walk unaided.
Ms Barrera-Torrico was injured in 2007 when cycling to her job at a charity and the case was settled out of court, compensating her for damages and loss of earnings.
