Factory worker wins £3,000 personal injury compensation

A factory worker has won personal injury compensation worth £3,000 after he suffered repetitive strain in his arm as a result of a task given to him at work.
Geoffrey Coleman developed the condition due to spending extended periods of time loading and moving large plastic bags with another colleague.
The personal injury compensation was awarded because when full, the bags weighed 50kg - or almost eight stone - each, giving the victim ligament strain in the forearm and forcing him to take leave from his job.
Working at a factory in Kendal at the time, Mr Coleman remembers: "I couldn't grasp anything for a long period of time and because of the pain I had to take time off work."
Rotating employees engaged in the task could have prevented the accident from occurring and saved the business from paying £3,000 in compensation, as well as improving workplace health and safety for staff.
