A warehouse employee who was injured in an accident at work has won a case against his employer with the help of
accident solicitors.
Paul Pritchard received £4,500 in compensation after the incident which left him with injuries that took over eight months to heal, the Sunderland Echo reported.
Mr Pritchard, 37, was working at the Rolls Royce depot in Sunderland when the accident at work happened, for which his employer has admitted blame.
At the time of the incident, Mr Pritchard was packing aeroplane components that weighed around 24kg each for Mitie Group.
"I was off work for almost four months and was basically bedridden. I contacted the GMB [a trade union] because I felt that Mitie should have done more to make sure the job I was doing was safe," Mr Pritchard said.
Furthermore, the importance of hiring accident solicitors has been backed up by data which showed that public sector workers were awarded £27 million in compensation last year, according to the Daily Express.
