Nestle pays 6-figure injury at work claim

A six-figure
injury at work claim is to be paid by Nestle, after a member of staff had to have part of her limb amputated following an accident in a warehouse.
Susan Ashe was driving a small truck when she lost control of the device and crashed into a barrier, leading to her leg being amputated below the knee.
Nestle is to pay personal
injury compensation to the victim, whose ability to operate the vehicle was impaired by difficult conditions at the factory in York, The Press reports.
The company commented: "This incident involving an agency worker at Nestle was a most tragic accident and our first concern was always for Mrs Ashe," revealing the confectionary maker has "reached an agreement for compensation".
A decision for the personal
injury claim would be based upon the effect the accident at work had on the victim, with factors such as loss of earnings, care needs and the overall impact on her life as a whole taken into consideration.
