No win no fee car accident claims may be made following party season

Personal Injury 21 Dec 2010

Drivers should be wary of the state of their passengers British drivers may require no win no fee car accident services following the Christmas party season, if one firm's statistics are accurate.

According to Swift Cover, the threat of crashes comes not only from drink drivers but also from passengers who are over the limit.

Indeed, the insurance firm believes those not in the driver's seat are just as much of a risk as individuals behind the wheel.

A study by the company shows drunk passengers have contributed to 100,000 accidents and 650,000 near misses – and with 35 million intoxicated people set to take a lift between now and January 1st, that number could be set to rise.

Robin Reames, claims director at Swift Cover, says: "Our research into a previously-uninvestigated phenomenon highlights the plight drivers face when driving their drunk friends or relatives home from parties."

AA Insurance has revealed the number of motor accident claims is twice as high as normal during the current cold weather.
