Personal Injury Claims Assessment Service wins award
Personal Injury 26 Nov 2010

A personal injury claims system has won an award for Consumer IT Innovation of the Year, having been developed by Insurance Services Office to meet reforms made by the Ministry of Justice.
Insurance Daily reports the accolade was given at this year's Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) UK IT Industry Awards, with the Personal Injury Claims Assessment Service (PICAS) digitising reporting of such incidents and thereby improving the speed with which cases are handled.
Joe Pendle, director of client services at the group, said the award recognises the "vision and pioneering work" of those involved, revealing the scheme "[connects] the various IT systems to overcome traditional delays in the personal injury claims process".
Car accident claims worth between £1,000 and £10,000 have been subject to a fast-track process since April 30th this year, in an attempt to decrease the time it takes for personal injury compensation cases to be resolved.
