Widow wins compensation claim after husband's death
Personal Injury 31 Jan 2011

Claims solicitors have helped a widow to win a £180,000 payout for her husband's death.
London's High Court this week made the award to the wife of Alan Underwood, who was hit by a lorry on March 17th 2008 and died from his injuries.
Mr Underwood's wife, Dawn, and children, Alan and Reann, did not attend the hearing. Mrs Underwood had claimed compensation from Corinne Radburn – who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident – and Auto Search (Essex Ltd), which trades as Sterling Training Services.
During the accident at Crick lorry park, Ms Radburn was having driving instructor Mr Underwood look at her braking skills when the vehicle she was driving struck him after she failed to brake in time.
Furthermore, in an incident last year a cyclist who sustained injuries from being trapped between two lorries was awarded compensation with the help of claims solicitors. Doris Barrera-Torrico received a pay out of £280,000.
