Worker wins £250,000 personal injury compensation
Personal Injury 03 Dec 2010
Personal injury compensation worth £250,000 has been awarded to a man hit on the head with an iron bar while performing his duties as a reception assistant.
David Prince, 58, was hurt when the driver of a lorry he was inspecting let go of a metal curtain rail, which struck the victim and caused permanent damage, the Yorkshire Post reports.
The personal injury compensation takes account of Mr Prince resulting in chronic headaches, extreme concentration difficulties and personality changes, as well as nausea and blurred vision immediately following the incident.
After the accident at work, the victim consulted Unison and was told to make a personal injury claim against the lorry company EH Lee.
Mr Prince commented: "As far as everyday life goes, it's nothing like it used to be. Getting the compensation has made a great difference, as it's taken away a lot of worries about the future."
It was recently revealed accident compensation of up to £2.5 million is to be awarded to a child who lost the sight in one eye and suffered brain damage, after a freak incident at school involving a paintbrush.
