Boy wins interim accident compensation
Personal Injury 14 Jul 2011

A young boy has recently received an interim
accident compensation payout after an incident in which he was left with brain injuries.
The Press Association reported that Alexander Dance, five, has been awarded an £800,000 payout as part of a claim that total several million.
Deputy judge David Pittaway QC agreed the advance payment, which will cover £104,000 to pay for a management and care package for the youngster, as well as helping to pay for a new house.
On October 2006, Alexander's mother, Patricia, had her son in his buggy and was walking with him in Brough when a 5ft window from the Dover Castle Youth Hostel hit him.
Foreign Magic Ltd, the owners of the hostel, were fined at Camberwell Magistrates Court in 2008, after Southwark Council found that the openable window frames were both defective and rotten.
Last year, Sharlene McKenna received £4,700 in accident compensation after falling scaffolding hit her while she was holding her young child, the Wiltshire Times reported.
