Compensation given to man for work injury
Personal Injury 24 Jun 2011

A man who suffered a
work injury has reached an out of court settlement for the incident with his employer.
The Thurrock Gazette reported that Barry Lester has been compensated £20,000 by Ford, following an incident in which he was attempting to lift a box containing car parts when he strained his groin.
As a result, the machine operator, who works for the company in Dagenham, had to have three weeks off work.
He then carried on working for another year despite the pain he was in, but hurt his leg again when it fell through a rotten floorboard in April 2009.
The 64 year old, who has been with the company for 24 years, then had to stay off work for more time as a result of this injury.
Last month, Meggitt Aerospace Ltd of Dorset was fined after one of its workers, who has not been named, injured their hand in a cooling press at the company's site in Shepshed.
