Equestrian worker wins £22,000 injury compensation
Personal Injury 11 Nov 2011

A man has won £22,000 in
accident compensation after suffering an
accident injury at work.
Jeffrey Kear, equestrian facilities manager, hurt his toe when moving two large wooden pallets at Stockland Lovell.
The pallets fell onto his foot, injuring his big toe, which later had to be amputated at the top after becoming infected.
"After a few days, the pain was so intense I could not even walk," Mr Kear told Taunton People. "[At the hospital] the doctors told me that the top half of my big toe would have to be amputated because it had become so badly infected."
Mr Kear has been left with mobility problems due to Stockland Lovell's failure to undertake a risk assessment and provide steel toe capped boots for employers moving potentially dangerous objects.
The claimant has not been able to work since the incident and has yet to receive an apology from his former employers.
