Family win accident claim over relative's death
Personal Injury 17 Feb 2011

A court has recently awarded car
accident compensation to the relatives of a woman who was killed in a
road traffic accident.
Ferguson Transport (Spean Bridge) admitted that it was liable for the fatal personal injury to Caroline Hamilton and, as a result, a jury awarded her husband, Ian, almost £180,000 and daughter, Kirsty, more than £140,000.
Ms Hamilton of Argyll died at the age of 50 when her car was crushed by a lorry transporting timber on the A82 Ballachulish to Fort William Road in late 2007.
At the time of the road traffic accident she was on her way to a lunch in Fort William, the Court of Session in Edinburgh heard.
In addition, Lord Young last year said that the general public had a poor view of health and safety regulations, possibility as a result of the media publishing sensational stories on the matter.
