Injury solicitors win case for injured cyclist
Personal Injury 29 Jun 2011

A cyclist has won his case in court with the help of
injury lawyers.
Harborough Magistrates heard Robin Perry admit he was driving without due care and attention or insurance when he crashed into cyclist Stephen Whitmore in February, the Lutterworth Mail reported.
As a result, Mr Perry was given a nine-month driving ban and instructed to pay fines of £335 and a £15 victim surcharge.
Injury solicitors also won Mr Whitmore £200 compensation and fought a case that ended in Mr Perry having to pay costs of £60.
During the incident, Mr Whitmore suffered a broken wrist and sprained ankle and spent a night at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Mr Perry, who represented himself in court, claimed that the accident had occurred as he had not seen the cyclist approaching as the sun was in his eyes.
This month, another cyclist, Peter Lodge, was given more than £2,000 by Yorkshire Water after he hit a pothole around one of the company's valve covers and fell from his bike, the Hebden Bridge Times reported.
