Man could seek cycle accident compensation
Personal Injury 04 Mar 2011

A fireman who was injured when his bike hit a pothole has said that he may take his
cycle accident claim to court.
Tony Clough told the Lancashire Telegraph that he could seek damages from Lancashire County Council after the recent incident on the A6068 Padiham bypass. The pothole has since been filled in but Mr Clough, 49, claims that the body have not done an adequate job.
He said: "It is no surprise there are so many potholes if this is how they are repaired, but something needs to be done. They are so dangerous to cyclists."
Mr Clough, of St John's Road, Padiham, was injured when his new bike hit the pothole, which was five inches deep, leaving him with injuries so severe that he had to remain off work for five weeks.
In another
road traffic accident, Roger Excell of Bournemouth was injured when he hit a temporary road works sign. As a result of the incident, the Borough of Poole paid him £5,000 in
accident compensation last month, the Bournemouth Echo reported.
