Motorists 'must prepare before journeys' to avoid accidents
Personal Injury 05 Dec 2011

Drivers must ensure they are properly prepared before setting out on journeys in bad winter weather conditions, to help reduce the risk of injury and making an
accident claim.
Motoring and safety organisations have already started dishing out driving advice, while this week's snow has already claimed its first fatality in the UK.
A meat lorry driver was involved in an accident on the A160 early this morning, driving in what Humberside Police have described as poor conditions.
GEM Motoring Assist chief executive David Williams has urged drivers not to get caught out by this year's unusually mild weather conditions.
"Its been a strange year weather wise with heat waves and milder weather when we'd normally expect to see colder conditions," he explained, adding that this has made it harder to predict when more dangerous weather will set in.
He urges drivers to ensure they take proper precautions, such as by reducing speed, avoiding harsh breaking and acceleration and planning routes carefully.
