People will be interested to hear that a new series involving probate detectives has begun airing on television, highlighting the importance of using a
probate service.
The History channel is currently showing Heir Hunters, a programme that portrays long-lost relatives being given their inheritances by probate detectives.
Heir Hunters reveals investigators conducting painstaking research to ensure that a person who dies without a will has their assets transferred to the rightful heir, showing the need for wills and using a probate service.
Those involved in the show have a limited time to find people who have a claim to the funds before the money has to be handed over to Her Majesty's Treasury.
In addition, a recent dispute between two stepbrothers has highlighted how essential it is to make a will. The Telegraph reported that Jonathan Fry and Martin Densham-Smith argued about an estate worth £500,000 as a clear and binding testament had not been written.
