Probate records could help a couple in their hunt for a family heirloom of great sentimental value, following the death of an elderly aunt.
Writing to the Daily Mail, the reader is advised

One of the reasons the family is unable to recover the jewellery is that the deceased remarried shortly before her death, which might lead to confusion or disagreements surrounding the ownership of items or the rights of various relations.
